THE CONVICTION BEHIND

Streams of Hope Counseling

Welcome to Streams of Hope Counseling. Our practice is based on a single conviction: that human beings are not made of separable parts. The mind, the heart, and the soul are braided together — and pain in one area always echoes in the others. Real healing means meeting a person on all three dimensions.

We bring clinical therapy grounded in current research and evidence-based practice, approached with care and rigor—and a pastoral presence that takes the spiritual dimension of life seriously, whatever form it may take in a given person. We also bring the simple human posture of accompaniment — a willingness to walk beside someone through difficult territory to help them move toward greater clarity, freedom, and wholeness.

approach

Our Approach.

At Streams of Hope, we've spent our careers sitting with people in the hardest moments of their lives. We believe healing isn't only a clinical process. It's a human one. And sometimes a sacred one. Whatever you're carrying — grief, anxiety, exhaustion, a relationship in trouble, a faith that's gone quiet, a life that no longer feels under your control — you are welcome here.

Trained in two traditions. Present to all.

Our clinicians are licensed practitioners, and several of us are also ordained priests — formed in a much older tradition as well, what's been called for centuries "the care of souls": the patient work of tending to a person's interior life, wherever they are in theirs. That dual formation lets us meet people in the full territory of what they're going through — the mind and the soul both. For those who want it, that pastoral dimension is here. For those who don't, the care is no less complete: rigorous, attentive, and fully present.

Accompaniment through what's hardest.

We sit with the grieving, the anxious, the exhausted, the spiritually disoriented, the quietly broken-hearted. We walk beside professionals who appear successful from the outside and feel hollow on the inside. We help people returning to faith, and people wrestling with whether to leave it. We hold space for the kinds of pain most people don't say out loud.

We listen carefully, speak with compassion and clarity — and we believe people heal best when they are met with honesty and careful attention to the full weight of their lives. Above all, we believe in the people who come to us — and in the possibility of healing and renewal.

Helping Hand

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

values

Our Values.

At Streams of Hope, our mission is to become a trusted place of healing — a practice where every soul can do the difficult, hopeful work of becoming whole again. The principles below guide the care we provide and shape every person's experience here.

Dignity. Everyone who comes to us is treated with kindness and respect, without exception. Whatever you bring, and wherever you are when you arrive, you will be met as a person of value.

Compassion. We meet suffering with gentleness. The hardest things you carry are safe here, and they are received with care, never judgment.

Hope. We hold hope steady, even when life feels overwhelming — especially then. When you can't yet see a way forward, part of our work is to keep that possibility in view.

Authenticity. What we say and who we are here is genuine. Our hope is that this becomes a place where you, too, feel safe enough to be fully yourself.

Excellence. We provide ethical, high-quality mental health care, practicing within the professional and ethical standards our work demands. You deserve nothing less than skilled, careful attention.

Respect. We respect you and what you bring — your history, your beliefs, your goals, your pace. You remain the author of your own life and care.

Collaboration. We work alongside you, not above you. Healing here is a partnership, and we help you move toward the goals that matter to you.

SESSIONS & SCHEDULING

All sessions are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth, available throughout Connecticut. Many of those who work with me find that the privacy of a session from their own home — without the commute, without the waiting room — allows them to settle more quickly into the work.

For some, therapy unfolds as a one-on-one conversation. For others, the Men's Group offers the additional gift of being witnessed by others walking similar ground.
